    Muay Thai Class Description:

    Our Muay Thai kickboxing class is perfect for beginners and advanced students looking for the best workout  in Tucson. This class is led by current UFC fighter and former Muay Thai champion Chris Cariaso. Muay Thai is the art of 8 limbs using boxing, elbow strikes, knee strikes and kicks as weapons. This system provides stress relief, strength, cardio-vascular fitness, self-defense and it is extremely fun. We teach authentic muay thai with basic and advanced techniques. This class will provide students with the tools they need for the ring, including the complete conditioning of a fighter, even though you may never compete.

  • Boxing

    • Class Description: Rise Combat Sports is the newest boxing gym in Tucson. Classes are headed by current professional UFC fighter Chris Cariaso. If you are looking for the best workout in the southwest or if you want to compete in the ring. We have a program for you. From basic stance, movement drills, focus mitts, bag drills, and ring strategy, this class has something for everyone. Much like muay thai, boxing is great for cardio-vascular, stress relief, strength training, and self-defense.  Rise Combat Sports is registered and recognized by USA Boxing.

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi)

    • Class Duration: 1 hour, 30 minutes
    • Instructors: Chris Cariaso and assistants

    Typical Class: Warm up, technique instruction, free roll, conditioning

     

    Class Description:

    Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a grappling martial art. Jiu Jitsu utilizes technique and leverage to impose strangle holds and joint locks while on the ground. This allows a person to defend him or herself effectively against a stronger and larger opponent. While many hand-to-hand martial arts rely on strikes using speed and power, Brazilian jiu-jitsu takes a different approach. Speed and power are not a requirement and are often times not necessary. Rather than relying on strikes, BJJ emphasizes closing the distance between you and your opponent and taking him or her to the ground where technique and leverage can be used to apply submissions or to strike more efficiently.

  • Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

    Mixed Martial Arts (MMA ) Class Description:

    Rise Combat Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) class is led by current UFC fighter and current top 10 flyweight, Chris Cariaso and Rainy Martinez. This class is the real deal for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training in Tucson. MMA combines muay thai, boxing, jiu jitsu, wrestling and judo. You don’t need to be a fighter to participate in this class but be ready for an intense workout. MMA provides stress relief, strength, cardio-vascular fitness, self-defense and it is extremely fun.

  • Fighter Training

    • Class Duration: 1 hour, 30 minutes
    • Instructors: Chris Cariaso and assistants

    Typical Class: One on one pad work, sparring, hard conditioning

    Amateur and professional fighters only (must have permission to attend)

  • Pee Wees 4-6 yrs old

    • Class Duration: 30 minutes
    • Instructors: Chris Cariaso and assistants

    Typical Class: Warm up, games, technique, pad work and fun!

     

    Class Descriptions:

    This is the funnest class on our schedule! We understand this age group well and their unique attention span and abilities. In this session, we use games and continually changing action—to teach your child the basics. We encourage kids to be themselves while also learning respect and team building with others.  We will build your child’s confidence, teach them structure, how to use their body and to just have fun being active. This class will teach kids the fundamentals of boxing, muay thai and jiu jitsu in a fun, motivational setting.

  • Little Warriors 7-10 yrs old

    • Class Duration: 45 minutes
    • Instructors: Chris Cariaso and assistants

    Typical Class: Warm up, games, technique, pad work and fun!

     

    Class Descriptions:

    This class is similar to the Pee Wees with less games and playtime. At this age, our kids are able to focus a little more on technique and perfect their skills.  As always, we provide a safe and positive atmosphere for kids to learn our program. We always instill the martial arts mindset. We build confidence, discipline and respect while teaching boxing, muay thai, jiu jitsu, and wrestling. To show each students progress, they will earn belts and stripes.

  • Junior Grapplers 11-15 yrs old

    • Class Duration: 45 minutes
    • Instructors: Chris Cariaso and assistants

    Typical Class: Warm up, pad work, bag work, partner drills, conditioning

     

    Class Description:

    The Junior Grapplers program is designed to motivate and inspire students to the next level. Students will learn fundamental and advanced techniques in boxing, muay thai, jiu jitsu and wrestling. Classes will encourage students to work hard and be the best they can be.  The classes will be fun and as always, taught in a very safe and positive environment. Upon graduation from the Jr. Grapplers class, the kid’s will be ready for adult classes.  The students will receive belts, and stripes to dictate their progress.

This class is led by former female Muay Thai fighter Jennifer Richardson. Muay Thai is the art of 8 limbs using boxing, elbow strikes, knee strikes and kicks as weapons. This system provides stress relief, strength, cardio-vascular fitness, self-defense and it is extremely fun. We teach authentic muay thai with basic and advanced techniques. This class will provide students with the tools they need for the ring, including the complete conditioning of a fighter, even though you may never compete.

    Women’s Sparring Class:

    Our Women’s Sparring Class is for intermediate to advanced students. This a great opportunity to start using what you have been learning in class in a controlled environment with just women.  The class will follow directly after the women’s muay thai class. You will need shin pads, 16oz gloves, head gear and  a mouth guard.
